Mission Hill
This group of images was made in reference to three triple-deckers in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston, MA. I lived and worked in this neighborhood; these were the three houses I wanted most. They were all visibly in need of repair - siding, foundation, deck or fence problems. Since I couldn’t buy them and fix them myself, I tried to do so through drawing. I first photographed them in pieces and reassembled them as lithographs. This emphasized their disrepair by futher 'breaking' them. I fixed the resulting images using acrylic paint, graphite, and a ruler.
